The cast of The Hateful Eight and director Quentin Tarantino appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night to promote the film, which will open in limited release on Christmas Day.
Missing from the guest list was Channing Tatum. who does have a role in the film but hasn’t been seen in any of the trailers. To make up for Tatum’s absence, Kimmel had the actor tape a separate segment that tied in with The Hateful Eight. Well, sort of. As you’ll see, this is certainly a creative angle that incorporates “hateful” and “eight.” And a kitten. Check it out:
OK, Tatum is clearly a dog person.
Nobody should question his star power at this point, after the success of the Magic Mike films. But how many guys could have carried this sketch and still made it funny? The bright, rainbow-filled setting among the clouds was reminiscent of the scene in 22 Jump Street when Jenko and Schmidt were tripping out on drugs. Hilarious stuff.
Will Tatum have more awful things to say to cute kittens in The Hateful Eight? Most of us will find out when the film goes wide on Jan. 8, 2016.
