We’re 10 days away from the Aug. 1 release of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, a bold swing that could either be disastrous or a surprising hit.
The promotional machine for the movie is kicking in hard. The cast — Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel — appeared Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and a five-minute clip of footage from the film hit the internet. Check it out.

Some of the footage (character introductions) has been seen in previous trailers, but this provides just about everything you need if you were wondering who these guys were and what this movie is all about.
Peter Quill is a brash, smart-ass Han Solo-type. Rocket Raccoon is a talking raccoon whose arrogance hides some terrible experiments done to him. Gamora is a ruthless assassin. And Groot is a humanoid tree who only says three words, “I am Groot.” Unfortunately, we don’t get a whole lot of Drax here. Maybe his good stuff comes later in the movie.
