Fox released its winter premiere dates yesterday, and along with the third season of The Following and the final season of Glee, the winter schedule includes the Will Forte (Saturday Night Live) comedy The Last Man on Earth. Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street, The LEGO Movie) will produce and direct.
Created by Forte, this single camera comedy follows the travels of Phil Miller (Forte) after he wakes up one day in 2022 to find out that he may be the only person left on Earth after an unknown apocalypse. As of now, Forte is the only actor listed to appear on the show, but a press release indicates that Phil will definitely be searching for other survivors.
If the trailer is any indication, The Last Man on Earth will feature Forte’s typical off-beat humor:
The Last Man on Earth will premiere with an hour-long episode at 9 P.M. on Sunday, March 1.
