The cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron have been doing a lot interviews to promote the film’s May 1 release. The sheer number of sit-downs and the grind of doing one after the other has led to uncomfortable moments and controversy.
But it’s also difficult for movie journalists to stand out among the blizzard of publicity for a worldwide blockbuster. How does one make his or her interview distinctive without causing a stir? If you’re MTV’s Josh Horowitz, you ask the Avengers if they can recognize each other from a photo of someone’s well-toned, pumped-up arm.
Considering how ripped Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., and Jeremy Renner got to play superheroes, identifying one of these actors simply by their muscled arm could have been relatively difficult. And how vain would it have been to recognize your own body? Oh yeah, that’s my arm. See that vein? Yeah.
But kudos to RDJ (who wasn’t present for this interview) for impressing everyone with his physique from Iron Man 2. (That’s just a guess, by the way.) At least he wasn’t recognized for his hairy arms, like Mark Ruffalo.
How did you do while watching the video? Personally, I didn’t want to do too well, as that might have meant I’ve been spending far too much of my free time (and, uh, writing time) studying photos of Marvel’s cinematic heroes.
Also, were those tortilla chips Hemsworth was snacking on the first carbs he’s consumed in months? I’m betting yes.
