Watch: Vanity Fair ‘Star Wars’ photo shoot reveals new characters

May the Fourth be with you, and all that. Vanity Fair certainly got into the spirit of “Star Wars Day” by releasing images from the magazine’s upcoming issue, featuring a photo shoot with the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The pictures revealed or confirmed some new characters that will be in the film, including Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver), who is indeed the villain of the story, as has been rumored for months. We also get a glimpse of Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o in full motion capture gear for her role as space pirate Maz Kanata. The article did not show what the CGI character will look like, however.

Also featured is AP Party favorite Oscar Isaac, who plays Resistance (the new name for the Rebel Alliance) X-Wing fighter pilot Poe Dameron.

The June issue of Vanity Fair with the Star Wars cover story will be available online May 7 and hits newsstands nationally May 12. The magazine also provided a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot from the Star Wars set.
