Prices For Steve Martin’s Stop At WinStar Casino Lowest on Tour

Steve Martin and the North Carolina bluegrass band Steep Canyon Rangers will merge together with comedy legend Martin Short in, “A Very Stupid Conversation” on July 11 at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, OK. The show will include musical performances (including Martin on the banjo), witty banter, and storytelling.

An actor, comedian, and author, Martin joined up with The Steep Canyon Rangers in 2009. Although the band had already established a significant following, they received a boost in popularity with the addition of the popular Martin. The band, who originally got together in 1999, features Woody Platt (guitar, lead vocals), Graham Sharp (banjo, harmony vocals), Charles R. Humphrey III (bass, harmony vocals), and Mike Guggino (mandolin).

In 2013, Steve Martin collaborated with singer/songwriter Edie Brickell on an album called Love Has Come for You. They later went on to play a handful of concert dates in support, and were joined by The Steep Canyon Rangers. One performance was released in both audio and video under the title “Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell Live.” Although it surprises some of his younger fans, Martin once opened for rock performers and donned long hair, a scraggly beard, and hippie wardrobe. His image on stage has since evolved, and in 2011, he released Rare Bird Alert, which featured him as a temporary member of the Steep Canyon Rangers, and included guest appearances by the legendary Paul McCartney and the Dixie Chicks.

“A Very Stupid Conversation” has sold out many of its ten tour dates, including Los Angeles and San Antonio, and tickets are going quickly. The average secondary ticket price to see Steve Martin on this tour is $204.56. The most expensive date on the stretch is the November 7 show at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI.
