Are you dreading the upcoming holiday season? Even if you’re not, Bill Murray is here to make it better for us. His A Very Murray Christmas holiday special premieres on Netflix Dec. 4 and a trailer for the show has been posted online. Give it a look.

Directed by Sofia Coppola, and written by Murray, Coppola and Mitch Glazer (Rock the Kasbah), A Very Murray Christmas follows Murray as he worries that a snowstorm will ruin his TV show. But as you can see from the trailer, several guests — including George Clooney, Amy Poehler, Chris Rock and Miley Cyrus — stop by to lift his spirits and make sure the show goes on.
But that’s not all Murray is giving us this Christmas. According to Pitchfork, the actor is releasing a Christmas single with the band Phoenix (who appears in the holiday special). Titled “Alone on Christmas Day,” the song will be released as a 7-inch vinyl single.
“The A-side comprises the titular track as performed by Phoenix, Murray, Schwartzman, former ‘Letterman’ musical director Paul Shaffer, and New York Dolls’ David Johansen, in his Buster Poindexter (‘Hot Hot Hot’) alias. The b-side features an instrumental version of the track.”
Here’s hoping that both Murray’s Christmas special and single become instant classics, worthy of being added to holiday traditions for years to come. Or just make this year funny. We’d settle for that.
