Earlier this summer, director Quentin Tarantino decided that his next film would indeed be The Hateful Eight. This was after Tarantino threw a fit over the script being leaked by Gawker, filed a lawsuit against the website and said the movie wouldn’t be made. He eventually calmed down and opted to go ahead with the project.
With the production set to begin filming in December, the cast for Tarantino’s Western has been officially confirmed. The biggest name listed among the actors is Channing Tatum, but it’s believed his role will be a smaller one, featured toward the end of the story. Tatum’s celebrity and star power adds buzz to the project, of course, something even Tarantino needs for his movies to be marketed internationally.
The cast for The Hateful Eight also includes frequent Tarantino players Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth and Michael Madsen. Kurt Russell and Walton Goggins (Justified) will also be in the film, along with Jennifer Connelly, Bruce Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Demian Bichir (The Bridge).
The Hateful Eight is set for a December 2015 release (showing in 70mm film in many theaters), but will likely make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
