We know that Matt Damon is returning to his role as Jason Bourne in an as-yet-untitled film (currently referred to as “Bourne 5”) set for release next year. What we also now know is that principal photography on the movie is officially underway.
Photo or it didn’t happen? Producer Frank Marshall took care of that by posting a photo of Damon on set to his Twitter account.

Well, Bourne certainly looks ready to kick some ass. (And Damon looks pretty jacked. Do he and Ben Affleck send each other shirtless selfies?) The super-spy is not exactly hiding that either, as he appears to be gearing up for (or finishing off) some kind of brawl or match in an undisclosed location. Where this fits in the story is anyone’s guess as no details about the plot have been revealed.
Bourne 5 — or whatever the film is eventually titled — also stars Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Julia Stiles, Vincent Cassel (Ocean’s Twelve) and Tommy Lee Jones, and is scheduled for a July 29, 2016 release.
