Fresh off a tribute at the Academy Awards in which she impressed many by performing songs from The Sound of Music, Lady Gaga may now be getting ready to scare the crap out of us.
Ms. Gaga announced on Twitter Wednesday that she will have a role on the fifth season of FX’s American Horror Story anthology series.

And apparently, this isn’t just a token appearance or small part for the singer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga will star in the next edition of the series, titled American Horror Story: Hotel.
Gaga is the first announced cast member for the next season of AHS. Several actors have played different roles through several seasons, including Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts. But THR’s Lesley Goldberg reports that Paulson and Roberts are committed to other shows this year, while Lange has said the most recent season of AHS, Freak Show, would be her last.
American Horror Story: Hotel is set for an October premiere, with an exact airdate yet to be determined.
