Netflix’s breakout prison drama/comedy Orange is the New Black is almost ready to begin its third season. Monday afternoon, the network released a teaser trailer featuring Piper, Crazy Eyes and all your other favourite Litchfeld prisoners.

While the teaser trailer mixes in both new footage and old content from the previously released season three trailer, this sure gets me excited about what’s to come. If you haven’t already seen the official season three trailer that was released back in April, it included a ton of new footage.

The first season of Orange is the New Black totally defied the low expectations I had for it. Season two upped the ante and built on an already great show. It’s the best thing Netflix has going for it, which is a huge compliment, considering quality series like Daredevil and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
After watching creator Jenji Kohan’s previous show, Weeds, fall to shambles after its third season, I really wasn’t sure what to make of Orange, where the only people I recognized were Donna (Laura Prepon) from That 70’s Show and the guy who sticks his junk in a pie from American Pie (Jason Biggs). While Prepon was absent for most of season two, she’s set to return for all of season three. Biggs on the other hand, will not be returning, which is good news for fans pining for a Piper/Alex get-together.
Let’s hope season three of Orange continues the strong benchmark set by the previous ones. Mark the date on your calendar, as new episodes of the show will be available to stream on Netflix June 12.
