Last October, Adult Swim aired a dark, weird, and seemingly endless credits sequence for a fake sitcom called Too Many Cooks at 4 A.M. on a Tuesday morning. The 11-minute video quickly became a viral hit that has been viewed over seven million times on YouTube.
Fast forward five months, and CNN has created a parody of Too Many Cooks mocking the 2016 presidential election and its seemingly endless supply of potential candidates. They also threw in past presidents, some billionaires, a couple dictators, Cuba Gooding Jr., and demonic sheep. Those sheep come courtesy of a political ad from former United States Senate candidate Carly Fiorina, who also appears in the parody.
CNN has not explained why they decided to use Too Many Cooks as the basis for this parody, but it works really well and is equally creepy. Especially creepy are everyone’s favorite Vice President Joe Biden, and my own governor from Michigan, Rick Snyder. CNN and Adult Swim are both owned by the Turner Broadcasting System, so here’s hoping we see a debate next year moderated by Dr. Steve Brule.
