Any new David Fincher movie is an event, in my opinion. But when he adapts one of the most popular novels of the past two years, it’s a potential cultural phenomenon. And with an Oct. 3 release date, Gone Girl clearly has eyes on being in the Academy Award race.
Here’s the new trailer for the film, which makes Ben Affleck’s Nick Dunne look damn suspicious.
I haven’t read Gillian Flynn’s novel (though I intend to over the summer), but from what I’ve heard from those who have, Fincher’s interpretation looks extremely promising. Maybe I should stay away from the book, however, as Flynn reportedly changed the story’s third act significantly for her screenplay.
