To me, one of the most pleasant comedy surprises in recent years was 2012’s Ted. A movie with a teddy bear voiced by Seth McFarlane teamed up with Mark Wahlberg resulted in something funnier than anyone had good reason to expect. (Ted‘s success is one reason why last summer’s A Million Ways to Die in the West was so disappointing.)
But you know what happens any time a comedy hits big at the box office: There’s going to be a sequel. And sure enough, Ted 2 is coming to theaters on June 26. Here is a new trailer for the film.
I will admit, the scene in the sperm lab made me laugh much harder than I probably should have. But McFarlane knows where so many of our comedy soft spots are. (Please don’t let that be the funniest scene from the movie.) However, the premise of Ted wanting to get married and have a baby, but being forced to prove he’s an actual person, seems like it could be problematic.
Fans of the first Ted may also have noticed that Mila Kunis, who played Wahlberg’s girlfriend, is nowhere to be seen in this sequel. That’s a shame; I really wanted to see those two kids make it.
