Tom Hiddleston is preparing to play country music legend Hank Williams in an upcoming biopic, titled I Saw the Light. But he’s not just in a studio somewhere learning to play Williams’ music and emulate his voice. Hiddleston is taking his process public, trying out Williams’ material in front of an audience.
Here’s video of Hiddleston on stage at the Wheatland Music Festival in Michigan over the weekend, playing “Move It on Over.” The clip isn’t great, picture-wise, but you can certainly hear Hiddleston singing.

If you want your video bigger (but not necessarily clearer), this Tumblr post might work for you. And here is a much clearer photo of Hiddleston on stage.

Does Hiddleston have the chops? Personally, I think he needs some more twang, but I don’t doubt he’ll get there.
I Saw the Light is listed on IMDB in pre-production and is set to begin shooting in October, so it could be a while before we see this one. Hiddleston surely needs all the preparation time with Crowell that he can get.
