Watch: Batman enjoys the good life in teaser for The LEGO Batman Movie

With Ben Afflecks’s grim, dark, angry and older Batman set to hit theaters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a more fun interpretation of the character should feel like a refreshing alternatives to filmgoers and Bat-fans. Obviously, Warner Brothers feels the same way as the studio is developing a spinoff from The LEGO Movie featuring Batman.

Voiced by Will Arnett, the LEGO Batman put on a bad boy pose while showing how great he is at fighting crime (along with a gift for song). He was arguably the best part of The LEGO Movie, so getting a spinoff film was a natural next step.

On Thursday, Warner Bros. released a teaser trailer for the comedy. And the timing probably couldn’t be better, considering advance reviews and buzz for BvS have been largely negative (currently earning a 32 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes). Take a look:

A Batman that comes home after keeping Gotham City save for another night to enjoy Lobster Thermidor is an interpretation any Bat-fan should enthusiastically endorse. I mean, if you have a butler and you’re rich, shouldn’t you enjoy some benefits besides an armored suit, cool car and cave outfitted with the best technology available? Get some French cooking while you’re at it. Although heating it up in the microwave might not be the best way to go. Don’t let the lobster get rubbery.

The LEGO Batman Movie is set for a Feb. 10, 2017 release.
