We’re going to presume that most of you reading this have seen 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. For one thing, Marvel movies have taken over the world. Even our parents have seen most of these things.
For whatever reason, maybe you missed it last summer and if you saw Avengers: Age of Ultron found yourself wondering who Cap’s friend was during that party scene and at the very end of the movie. (That would be The Falcon, by the way, played by Anthony Mackie.) But some of you are busy and maybe haven’t had the time to catch up. (You’re spending your time reading pop culture websites, right?) The Winter Soldier is 136 minutes long and two hours of your time to something can be a commitment.
So the creative people at CineFix have provided something to help you out: a condensed version of The Winter Soldier lasting two-and-a-half-minutes. Oh, and it’s been remade into an 8-bit video game as part of their “8-Bit Cinema” series. So there’s a little bit of nostalgia for the video games of your childhood to enjoy as well.
If you saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier, you know this 8-bit remake covers everything pretty well. And if this is your first exposure to the movie, most of the important storylines and characters are covered. Well, except maybe the whole plot of an international spy organization infiltrated by a terrorist group bent on world domination. But maybe that’s nitpicking.
Other nitpicking: Frank Grillo’s Brock Rumlow character gets overlooked here. But that wasn’t really a big role. He’ll make up for that in the next Cap movie, Captain America: Civil War.
