Watch: ‘Daredevil’ season 2 teaser shown at New York Comic Con

TV networks with superhero shows had plenty of sizzle reels to show at this past weekend’s New York Comic Con. These trailers were half victory lap for the previous season, half teaser trailer for what’s to come.

In the case of shows like Arrow, The Flash and Gotham, we’ve already gotten a little taste of the new season since they’ve begun on their respective networks. But for Netflix’s Daredevil, season two won’t be available on our TVs, computers and mobile device for another six months or so.

So any glimpses of the new season — whether it’s Matt Murdock in costume, Elodie Yung as Elektra or Jon Bernthal as The Punisher — seem particularly exciting. The teaser is only about 30 seconds of this overall sizzle reel, but here it is:

The Daredevil preview did a bit of a yo-yo as far as availability coming out of the weekend. An unofficial clip of the sizzle reel was initially posted online, but then taken down. An official video was available Monday morning, yet was soon gone after many sites had posted it, as someone was apparently hasty in releasing something on YouTube that shouldn’t have been. (The video was apparently supposed to be “private.”)

But now we have a decent copy available, with brief glimpses of Elektra pulling on what appears to be a ninja mask and the back of Frank Castle’s head as he walks through a hallway. OK, we don’t know for sure that it’s The Punisher, but there’s a pretty good chance. Besides, the X-ray of a skull invokes the character’s famous logo as well.

Season two of Daredevil will premiere on Netflix in early 2016, likely in April as season one did this year.
