Grainy cell-phone footage of the Suicide Squad trailer leaked online from Comic-Con Saturday night, much to the dismay of director David Ayer.

Two days later, Warner Brothers did the smart thing and released a legitimate trailer that brings on the bad guys in glorious HD, seen as Ayer meant it to be seen. Watch for yourself.

That looks pretty great, and it establishes the premise for the movie right off the bat. The government’s making the bad guys do the dirty work. And what a collection of characters.
Jared Leto as The Joker looks creepy, as we finally get to see (and hear) him in action. Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) looks nuts as the movie’s likely breakout character, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) is not to be messed with, and Will Smith as Deadshot takes a back seat to all the other craziness going on here. Dare I say Jai Courtney even looks good as Captain Boomerang?
There’s still plenty of time to wait for the movie unfortunately, as Suicide Squad is set to be released Aug. 5, 2016.
