David Letterman doesn’t have much time left behind the host desk at The Late Show (18 days, to be exact), so every guest he has from here on out is likely to be the last time he talks with that particular person in that setting.
On Friday, Jerry Seinfeld was the Late Show guest and since he knew it was his last time in the seat to Letterman’s right, he took the opportunity to switch roles on the host. Did Letterman realize what it was like to have him loom over the guest during a conversation?

The conversation continues, though Letterman is interviewing Seinfeld while the two have switched seats. It’s a little strange, if for no other reason that the camera angles and staging. Though it’s probably more that the situation is different than what we’re accustomed to. Host sits behind desk, and often to the right of the screen, while guest sits a bit lower in an armchair. Although it’s interesting how Letterman’s posture is instantly more relaxed in the comfortable guest chair.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Seinfeld has interviewed Letterman. The late-night host was a guest on Seinfeld’s talk show of sorts, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee last December.
