Zach Galifianakis has already shown he can be a tough, fair interviewer, interrogating President Barack Obama on his Between Two Ferns talk show. So a sitdown with Brad Pitt likely wouldn’t be a problem for him.
As you might expect, Galifianakis wasn’t dazzled by Pitt’s stardom or incredible good looks. Nor did he feel an obligation to talk about Pitt’s new film, Fury (which certain writers thought was very, very good). Instead, he looked for the answers to questions we’d all like to ask, such as when Pitt lost his virginity and why doesn’t he like to shower.
“Is it hard for you to maintain a suntan?” Galifianakis asked Pitt. “Because you live in your wife’s shadow?” Here’s the latest Between Two Ferns.
Should we have mentioned the cameo by Louis C.K.? Was that burying the lede? Maybe it’s because that wasn’t C.K.’s best material. That’s OK — he probably wants to save it for his TV show or next comedy special. He may also have been rattled because Brad Freakin’ Pitt was standing right behind him! Damn, he’s good-looking. And a huge movie star.
But not too big for Galifianakis, obviously. When will CNN come to its senses and give him Larry King’s old time slot at 9 p.m. ET weeknights?
